Pop-Noir Persona

This series investigates the tension between classic dramatic portraiture and modern, editorial audacity. Grounded in an ongoing exploration of heavy shadow and low-key lighting techniques, the collection isolates the subject against a near-impenetrable void, forcing the viewer to confront the sharp, graphic elements of her styling. The traditional moodiness of chiaroscuro is intentionally disrupted by stark, contemporary contrasts—the pop of vibrant red lips, the architectural lines of a cut-out silhouette, and the defiant presence of retro accessories.
